All carpet cleaning companies are different and will charge different prices for their carpet cleaning services. Some will be cheap, may do a bad job and be uninsured. Others will be expensive and they may do a great job and be insured but could be out of your price range. Before you focus on just the best price or the cheapest price for your carpet cleaning service, you should also consider if the carpet cleaning company you are going to hire is legit and trustworthy.
To check if the company you are about to hire is legit there’s a few things you can do:
- Check if they have a high rating on Google or Facebook, preferably 4.5 stars or more.
- Did a friend or family use their service and recommend them to you?
- They should give you a price for your carpet cleaning service and not try and upsell you when they arrive at your property. This is called bait and switch and is highly frowned upon in the carpet cleaning industry.
- Make sure they arrive to your property in branded vans and are wearing branded uniforms.
- Ask them to see their insurance policy. All legit and insured companies will be happy to oblige.
How Much Will Your Carpet Cleaning Service Cost in Ireland?
To take your carpet cleaning prices into account we must look at what service you’re looking to get done and how your carpet needs to be cleaned. Are you just looking to get a room or two cleaned? Is there a lot of stains or have they not been cleaned in years?
Does your carpet need to be cleaned using the hot water extraction method or the very low moisture method? Hot water extraction takes a lot more work compared to very low moisture so it may be more expensive to get your carpets cleaned using this method.
If you haven’t looked after your property or have moved into a property where the carpet has been neglected then you will be charged more as it takes a lot more work and a lot more time to clean. You could also be charged extra for spot and stain removal, especially if your carpet needs pet urine removal.
You also need to consider how far your property is away from the carpet cleaning company you want to hire. Do you live in the city or countryside? Will they have to pay for parking or tolls to get to your property? There may even be an extra charge if they need to travel further.
Cleaning carpets in an apartment or 3 story house could imply an extra charge as it will be extra effort to get all the equipment up to the areas that need to be cleaned. Also areas like Dublin may be more expensive as you know the capitol of Ireland is an expensive area to live and run a business. If you live in rural Ireland then expect to pay a lot less for your carpet cleaning service.
Minimum charges: Most carpet cleaning businesses in Ireland will have a minimum charge. The price you could pay for this could be €50 – €150 per callout. This is because there is a lot of equipment to setup before any carpet cleaner begins work.
Price per room or area: Most carpet and upholstery cleaning businesses in Ireland will charge you per room or per area. You can pay anything from €30 – €60 per room depending on where you live and how big the room or area is. Usually this price per room cost will cover all spot and stain removals as well.
Price per Hour: Other carpet cleaning businesses will charge by the hour. Expect to pay €30 – €70 per hour if you live in Ireland. They will price the job based on how long they think it will take and then give you their hourly rate.
Price per Square Meter: Other carpet cleaning companies in Ireland will charge by square foot. Depending on the job, if it’s a residential or commercial carpet you can expect to pay anything around €2.00 – €4.00 per sq meter.
